Hi
I have attended a two-day conference called The August Fest 2014 on 30th and 31st August 2014.
Before I share anything about conference, I thought I can share my write-up (an unedited version of my notes) on the same event organised in August 2013 at Indian School of Business (ISB). This is just my personal notes considering myself as budding entrepreneur and I have actually circulated to all August Fest participants in 2013 and got great response. So this is for you all who want to bring out the entrepreneur out. :)
1.
Develop a value proposition;
give value to your product. Don't worry about price.
2.
Do market research, try
to understand the present competitors, make yourself unique in your service or
product
3.
Develop a sense of
perseverance and with stand with ups and downs with lot of courage and learn
from others experiences
4.
Don't worry about you
have experience in the field that you have passion or start up that you want to
take up, just try to organize and learn the game and play it till you win it
5.
Don't have a second option
for your career or plan B for your business
6.
Congratulations on your
first failure. Because the more you fail faster, the better you get to success
in the field of entrepreneur. It does not mean you should fail , it means you
may fail but as long as you learn from failure faster, you can enjoy great
success. Get feedback, do analysis of feedback, learn from others instead of
failures
7.
One person can venture
into many businesses even though he is not a great performer in college or in
studies (Does not mean one should not perform well in academics)
8.
Every entrepreneur one
thing is common they all dared to do things. They are risk takers. They
believed their product or service even though others cannot believe or laughed
at their ideas.
9.
Things that you never
think as a great business idea can be a wonderful or already successful
business
10.
There is plenty of
opportunity as long as you can provide solution to a problem
11.
Building meaningful
relation is building business
12.
Your first impression is
a makes more impact on your sales . A book is always judged by it's cover page
13.
Give yourself to the
fullest and believe that you can do, make as much best as you can, you will
automatically receive. Giving is nothing but receiving in a flow of business.
14.
Try to learn the decision
makers and contact them. Try to remember every persons' name who involve in the
process of most important journeys in life as you progress as a entrepreneur (A
reception is a great business provider in other role for you, a security
guard is a wonderful supporter for meeting a decision maker in a office)
15.
Compete on value that
you give through your product and service, compete on relationships, compete on
trust that you can bring, compete on giving the best [Wowing] to the customers
instead of competing on price.
16.
Get the other person see
the value of your product by offering a free or test service or sample product
then the sale can be closed with less cost
17.
Your passion (sometimes
hobby) can be very well converted into business if you can find the need or
value for what you do
18.
Many entrepreneurs are
using internet, social media and mobile apps for the services or product and
this is much needed to sustain on long run
19.
Videos are more
attractive for presentations when developed professionally and used at right
time with quality
20.
Instead of addressing
crowd you can also target premier customers with high value products with
relevant pricing and make revenues
21.
THE MUST KEEP IN
MIND FEEDS: Understand the problem, Solution /Product, People, Price,
Capital, market research, taking mentors support, attending entrepreneurs
networks and workshops, Cash flow, revenue model, Marketing, Customer
feedback, Sustainable model, possibilities for scaling up
